Request for Partners

The University of Kentucky is seeking to partner with a limited number of public schools in Kentucky to expand the UK Next Generation Scholars Network.

This Request for Partners (RFP) provides both guidance as to critical Network components and a request for interested districts to submit an application to participate. As part of the application, this document details the request for responses, including optional supporting artifacts uploads, that will inform the choice of Network partner schools to begin in the Fall semester of 2023. To be eligible to join the Network for the Fall of 2023, interested schools/districts shall submit their application through the link provided in this document in November of 2022.

To assist the UK Center for Next Generation Leadership in administering this Request for Partners process, we request a Notification of Intent to Apply (details provided in the RFP).  This step is not required but is strongly encouraged. In the notification, you will be asked to provide:

  • The high school site interested in serving as a partner, including any specifics about a limited application within a larger high school site such as within a program or other school-within-a-school model.
  • The name of the primary contact person.
  • Confirmation of district support of the application.
  • Three potential times in November when leadership team members can be available for a phone call with Next Gen Scholars staff.

Next Gen Scholars 2023 RFP Cycle - Webinar

The Webinar for the 2023-24 cycle has been completed. Schools interested in learning more about our model and potential partnership with UK can watch this webinar which we recorded for the 2022-23 cycle but still contains accurate information on the basic structure of our dual credit model.

School MOA

To be a partner site for the UK Next Generation Scholars Network, once selected, schools must submit a signed Memorandum of Understanding agreeing to the critical components of both the dual credit and network components of the partnership. The signed MOU must be delivered to UK before dual credit classes begin at the partner site.

An example MOU from the 2021-22 Academic Year (terms subject to change for the 2023-24 Academic Year) can be found at this link.

The final MOU for the 2023-24 Academic Year will be released in the early Spring semester.
