Information for Admitted First-Year Students Who Have Not Confirmed for Fall 2022

Thank you for your interest in joining the first-year class at the University of Kentucky this fall. The interest among incoming first-year students to be part of the Big Blue Nation this fall has been unprecedented.  

To that end, on May 4, 2022, the University transitioned its admittance for first-year students for the Fall 2022 semester based on admitted college and residency. Please see below for current enrollment opportunities.  

Accepting Big Blue Nation Orientation registration (confirmation), both Kentucky residents and out-of-state students:  

  • College of Arts and Sciences (except majors of Political Science and Psychology)

  • College of Design

  • College of Engineering  

Accepting BBN Orientation (confirmation), Kentucky residents only:  

  • College of Agriculture, Food and Environment

  • College of Arts and Sciences 

  • Gatton College of Business and Economics  

  • College of Communication and Information 

  • College of Education  

  • College of Fine Arts

  • Martin School of Public Policy and Administration

  • College of Public Health  

  • College of Social Work 

Waitlisting all admitted but not confirmed students, regardless of residency status: 

  • College of Health Sciences 

  • College of Nursing  

Waitlisting admitted but not confirmed, out-of-state students:  

  • College of Agriculture, Food and Environment

Confirm Your Place at UKAll new, transfer and readmission students must participate in Big Blue Nation Orientation.

Confirm your enrollment by paying your orientation fee and enrollment deposit, then sign up for your Big Blue Nation Orientation.
(Transfer students are assessed the orientation fee after participating in BBN Orientation; there is no enrollment prepayment for transfer students.)

DO THIS FIRST: Activate your linkblue account

Every student needs a linkblue account to complete the confirmation process. Make sure you have your acceptance letter on hand to activate your account; you will need the username and temporary password provided. The linkblue wizard will also guide you through setting up your UKY email address and two-factor authentication.

UK Email

After you’ve activated your linkblue account, you will set up your UKY email address. Check your email regularly for updates and important information on financial aid, scholarships, admissions and even your academic advisor!

Complete Your FAFSA

Apply early for financial aid. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available annually on October 1, at fafsa.gov. Incoming students who are admitted to UK and complete the FAFSA prior to December 1 receive priority consideration for scholarships, financial aid and grants. Include UK’s federal school code, 001989, on your FAFSA.

Some of the best memories of college come from living on campus. Friends are made every day in a residence hall, on a walk to class or over a delicious meal.
