Join the College of Communication and Information's Class of 2030
Turn your passion into your profession.
That's the CI experience.
When you picture college, you're imagining moments - the people, the breakthroughs, the first big project that makes you think, "This is what I want to do." Here, you’ll join an involvement culture that’s active, collaborative and full of students who are building their futures in real time. Whether you’re filming in the Downtown Studio, pitching a creative concept, designing tech solutions or leading a student org, you’ll be doing real-world projects that actually matter.
At UK’s College of Communication and Information, your journey begins with Big Blue Nation Orientation.
Orientation is required for all new UK students and is your first step as a Kentucky Wildcat. You’ll connect with faculty and advisors, learn about academic expectations, plan your Fall 26 schedule and discover campus resources that will help you achieve greater success.
Confirm your spot by May 1 and join a college ready for you.

What helped me move from accepted to committed was the sense that the University of Kentucky, and especially the College of Communication and Information, valued people as much as programs. Conversations with faculty and current students made it clear that support and opportunity were not just promises, but true realities.
Welcome to your new Kentucky Home
Lexington is a vibrant, friendly, and safe community nestled in the heart of Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region that has all the amenities of a bustling city, and all the charm of a small town.
We’re within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the country’s population, or a quick flight from our Blue Grass Airport—making it close enough for an easy trip home, but far enough to keep your parents from trying to visit every weekend.
We're not the only ones who think so

What ultimately helped me decide on the College of Communication and Information was imagining where I could see myself: not just studying, but leading, creating and building meaningful relationships. I chose CI, the place where I felt those possibilities.
Go Big Blue!
From putting on the blue body paint to chanting in the stands and singing our fight song, there's nothing quite like the rush of game day. (Okay, the body paint is optional, but you should try it at least once.)
Athletics are an exciting aspect of college life here at UK. As part of the Southeastern Conference, and the home to 23 varsity sports programs, there's no shortage of action for you to get in on, Wildcats.
