It's Go Time

Welcome to Kentucky’s #1 Engineering School

Let’s build what’s next.

You’re ready to design bold solutions, tackle real-world challenges and shape what comes next. At UK’s Pigman College of Engineering, that journey begins with Big Blue Nation Orientation.

Orientation is required for all new UK students and it's your first official step as a Kentucky Wildcat engineer. You will connect with advisors, explore academic expectations, plan your Fall '26 schedule, discover campus resources and meet the community that will support you from day one through graduation.

Confirm your spot by May 1 and take your place at Kentucky’s #1 engineering school. Let’s build what’s next together.

As an out-of -tate student from over 2,000 miles away, I came to the University of Kentucky not knowing a single person. The Engineering Living Learning Program allowed me to meet people in similar majors and make connections I would not have otherwise.

Welcome to your new Kentucky Home

Lexington is a vibrant, friendly, and safe community nestled in the heart of Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region that has all the amenities of a bustling city, and all the charm of a small town.

We’re within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the country’s population, or a quick flight from our Blue Grass Airport—making it close enough for an easy trip home, but far enough to keep your parents from trying to visit every weekend.

I made some of my closest friends through the SEAM Pathway. It was really nice to have a group of people outside of mechanical engineering who I stayed with all four years. The classes were interesting, and they made being a Lewis Honors College student while being an engineering major feel more manageable.

Go Big Blue!

From putting on the blue body paint to chanting in the stands and singing our fight song, there's nothing quite like the rush of game day. (Okay, the body paint is optional, but you should try it at least once.)

Athletics are an exciting aspect of college life here at UK. As part of the Southeastern Conference, and the home to 23 varsity sports programs, there's no shortage of action for you to get in on, Wildcats.
