Family builds a ‘King’-sized legacy of tradition at UK

The University of Kentucky is celebrating the annual tradition of Homecoming this week. UK has always been “home” to many, if not most, members of Howard and Elizabeth King’s family, originally from Brandenburg, Kentucky. To date, the family spans three generations and includes 54 UK graduates, representing more than 70 degrees.

The Thrifty Cat — UK’s new campus free store for students

The Thrifty Cat, UK’s first-ever campus free store, will officially open its doors Friday, Oct. 17, with a grand opening event from 3-4:30 p.m. between Blazer Dining and Holmes Hall. Students are invited to browse shelves of gently used clothing, school supplies, dorm and apartment essentials, and other items — all at no cost.

Bringing smiles across Ky.: UK Dentistry unveils fresh new look for mobile clinic

On Sept. 18, the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry gathered at James Lane Allen Elementary to unveil the fresh new look of their mobile dental clinic. The ceremony celebrated the college’s commitment to serving schools in Fayette County and across Kentucky.

Big Blue Nation Orientation

Big Blue Nation Orientation is a student’s official welcome to the UK family. At BBNO, students participate in academic advising and register for their first-semester classes. Additionally, students get familiar with campus, learn about campus resources and support programs and meet lots of other new Wildcats.
