UK alum brings engineering skills to national racing stage

Monon Rahman, a 2019 graduate of the University of Kentucky Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, will make his competitive racing debut this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, competing as a Legend Car driver in the INEX Winter Heat Series and representing UK on a national motorsports stage.

Art and digital media design faculty selected as ’26 Derby Festival poster artist

University of Kentucky School of Art and Visual Studies lecturer Shae Goodlett has been named the artist for the official 2026 Kentucky Derby Festival poster. Goodlett’s design will be featured on the festival’s 2026 official merchandise line, including clothing, accessories, glassware and mugs. The poster will be unveiled in February.

UK receives $150 million gift from The Bill Gatton Foundation to create arts district

The University of Kentucky Board of Trustees today accepted a $150 million gift from The Bill Gatton Foundation to construct a new arts district, including a new College of Fine Arts building and a several-hundred seat theater.

Big Blue Nation Orientation

Big Blue Nation Orientation is a student’s official welcome to the UK family. At BBNO, students participate in academic advising and register for their first-semester classes. Additionally, students get familiar with campus, learn about campus resources and support programs and meet lots of other new Wildcats.
